The draw for the Arbroath section has been done by the SPA for the the first IM event, the finals of which will take place over the weekend of 20th-21st February in the Corner Pocket in Falkirk. Only 2 players will qualify from Arbroath. There are 3 "rounds" and two players who competed in last year's IM series are seeded (Greg Alexander and Colin Brown)whilst a further player (Garry Mitchell) has received a bye. It is a straight draw as follows :- First Round Match 1 - Jonathon Cargill lost to Gareth Ruxton by 6-4 Match 2 - Michael Bastow lost to Scott MacEwan by 6-3 Match 3 - Steve Hamilton beat Roy Middleton 6-5 Match 4 - Paddy Nicoll beat James Balfour by 6-2 Match 5 - Steve Webster beat Graham Dunbar by 6-4 Second Round Greg Alexander lost to Gareth Ruxton by 6-5 Scott MacEwan lost to Steve Hamilton by 6-2 Colin Brown beat Garry Mitchell (Bye from First Round) by 6-4 Paddy Nicoll lost to Steve Webster by 6-3 Qualifying Matches Gareth Ruxton beat Steve Hamilton by 6-4 Colin Brown beat Steve Webster by 6-4 Qualifiers are Colin Brown and Gareth Ruxton for IM 1.
